Animation taught me something advertising still needs to remember:
Every frame has a job.
When you work with movement, you become very aware of timing.
When does something appear?
How long does it stay?
What happens before it?
What makes the eye move next?
You cannot afford unnecessary movement because the viewer sees everything happening over time.
Advertising has a similar problem.
A film can have beautiful shots, great music and brilliant production value and still feel slow.
Because nothing is moving the idea forward.
Animation taught me to think in sequences.
Not just:
“What is the shot?”
But:
“What happens next?”
That way of thinking became useful far beyond animation.
In digital experiences.
In films.
In campaigns.
In presentations.
Good communication has rhythm.
Sometimes the rhythm is fast.
Sometimes the most powerful moment is the pause.
But every beat should earn its place.
